No sé por qué voy a ver un musical si no me gustan los musicales. Al cabo de cuarenta y cinco minutos ya estaba deseando que acabara, y todavía quedaba una hora y media de espectáculo. Hay que valorar también que me tocó sentarme detrás de la mujer más alta y más erguida de todo Liverpool, con lo que más bien parecía que estaba en un partido de tenis mirando a la izquierda y a la derecha de su cabeza. Tengo que admitir que fue un espectáculo bien montado y que los actores bailaban y cantaban bien, mejor lo primero que lo segundo. La estrella era Jennifer Ellison, una actriz local protagonista en Brookside, la serie que graban debajo de casa. Me quedo con el teatro tradicional.

The kiss-and-tell tale of Roxie Hart, a nightclub singer who kills her lover; Velma Kelly the glamorous double-murderess vying for press supremacy; and Billy Flynn, the slick lawyer who has the power to keep them both from death row and turn them into stars.

Chicago is a loving look back at vaudeville, a timely satire on the American justice system and above all a reminder of what great theatre can be.

This is the third national UK tour of the record-breaking smash hit musical and stars Liverpool's own actress and singer Jennifer Ellison as Roxie Hart, and Dale Meeks (Emmerdale) as Amos Hart.
